Working Butterfly
I HATE cityrail. It's supposed to take 50 minutes to get home via train. 40 mins on a good day. It took me three hours to get home tonight. I left work relatively early in order to catch a 7pm bus home. i ended up missing two buses and ringing a friend to pick me up. It is absolutely ridiculous that the government doesn't bother to spend more money and effort to make trains more passenger-friendly. They make a big hoo-ha about how we should care for the environment. so we all don't drive our cars into work, we take public transport. except, WHAT'S THE BLOODY POINT if the public transport DOESN'T WORK??? HUH? HUH?? HUH???Work was ok. the new boss is... ok. everyone else missed me, so it was nice to lap up some attention. getting hailed by people and having them ask me how i was, etc. it made for some nice 'show'. *sheepish smile* Least it shows that i was welcome and that some of my fears were just plain silly.
On another note, you have to congratulate me for my timing. Tomorrow, for my second day back at work, I will be clocking off at 11am to go down to the Races (It's Melbourne Cup day tomorrow). hee hee. and everyone is going down to one of the work colleague's place for an early bbq. *wicked grin* Work is HARD work. Very STRESSFUL.
My feet hurt from the high heels. At least my report is nearly done. It should be finished by tomorrow before we go the RACES.
I should probably get to sleep soon. I hate being such a baby and going to bed at such an early hour (10pm) but waking up at 6am can drain a person. And anyway, I need to go and find a flashy outfit for the RACES.
